Biology to deactivate racism. Bed-Stuy New Beginnings

Biology teacher Natascha Yvette Dooley invited Angelica Dass to Bed-Stuy New Beginnings school in New York, to discuss the concept of race as a social construction, demonstrating that this idea can in no way be considered under the laws of biology. The students also held a workshop in which they searched for their own skin color and made a self-portrait to celebrate diversity.

Students were surprised about how deep established stereotypes can be in our society and that it is necessary to reflect on them with critical thinking, not only in relation to ethnic diversity but also to social diversity
