At a gala held at the Oceanogràfic in Valencia, the Spanish Red Cross awarded Angélica Dass the 2022 Gold Medal for showing the diverse beauty of humanity through an unusual direct reflection on skin colour that shuns the stereotypes associated with race.

H.M. Queen Letizia presented the awards and in her speech she stated that “these people and entities are diverse and have a different way of looking at the world, but in all their difference they find the way to listen, create to transform, care, look after and solve” when referring to the awarded people and entities.
