Angélica Dass has received the Art for Change grant from the “La Caixa” Foundation to carry out her new project “Un árbol sin raíces no prospera” [Sustrairik gabeko zuhaitzak ez du aurrera egiten] in the Basque Country.

The project promotes the development of artistic processes that generate a positive narrative of migration and cultural diversity in the community. It aims to work on image, identity and the archive with students who are migrants or who are perceived as such. It investigates memory, family albums of internal Spanish migrations and international migrations. The aim is to create a collective and multidisciplinary work that allows us to identify a common element and realise that migration is part of what it means to be human.
